If someone could produce/prove that they had material that was new to ODP they could earn an invitation to the site. This required them to post material in order to get the invitation. HurpDurp you should know better. The early posts as you said a few days/weeks after the site opened about selling were before the forum really took the shape we all knew. Yes I originally opened it to try to make some cash and sell it, but then it took a new shape with all the members and staff. Don't talk so harshly when you don't know all the facts.

She was what got me banned on paypal, threatened multiple times to sue me, tried to get our hosted banned etc. Thats why I passed the site to Brown since he was overseas and I figured he would be able to help save the site. I did not want to let the site go at all by that point. Like I said you do not know all the facts on what happened behind the scenes and how many risks me and brown had to take to try to keep the site alive for members like you.
I dunno about that, DP. MzD hadn't been on ODP since you left. In fact, the only DMCA we got one was random one from Susan Michelle (which is most definitely MY fault) right before the site died .

DeleteYes I know how Tor works and if you do you should know its not 100% secure and if you know what to do its easy to track back. Also what I mean with the invitation system is it would have to be highly regulated to make sure certain people didn't lie there way in.
There are ways it can be done, it will just be alot of work and attention.

ReplyDeleteI know for me the forum structure was always preferable to the chan format because you could find what you were interested in a lot easier. But it still had its downsides, since people would often post items without a description about what was really in the file, and we often times had to scroll though pages of comments hoping there was a new link. I was thinking what would make the forum system much better would be the inclusion of a wiki in each thread (best example of this I know of is slickdeals' forum), where users besides the OP can put relevant info, links, tags, etc. Each thread is dedicated to a single file, with a stickied thread acting as a master wiki for each category/domme/whatever.
There are so many thousands of dead links in the old backup now, that to me it would be such a headache of sorting through them that I personally would rather start fresh. This seems like the time when us perverts could use a new home. I know lots of people have said they'd give money to the cause and then never did, but jesus, it's like $30 a month. I'm not a 13 year old scrounging on allowance money, and for me, simply having a resource that tells me what's actually in a file instead of the cryptic descriptions every goddamned domme uses would be well worth that price. I could actually buy some files without being afraid they're just another bullshit file.
So the tl;dr is: I'm actually going to get some hosting, and nuts to all this dicking around for a year. What I'm looking for right now is a host in a safe harbor country that accepts bitcoin/litecoin. When I find one, it's getting setup. If you can convince me that the benefits of using the old backup outweigh the benefits of starting clean, I will happily make the server available to you. I miss ODP, and I want it back.

Like you said, there's really no point in keeping the content other than accounts. NONE of the links will work now... :X The forum structure would, hopefully, stay the same but 99.9% of the forums in VIP weren't used so they would probably get deleted.

I wouldn't give you the data anyway, seeing as I have no clue who you even are :V Having said that, a site that is completely open to anyone isn't a good idea no matter what (IE: Hypnochan, Hidden Hypnochan), as the dommes and/or their servants can join and remove everything lickety-split. Your best bet is doing what I was doing at the end of ODP's reign: FORCING people to give you NEW content that hasn't seen the light of day yet in order to get access, or give access to people have proven previously that they deserve it (like, for example, Sleepless).
